#47. GARIBALDI'S BEEN HIT!

#47. GARIBALDI’S BEEN HIT!

I shoot photos for the Washington Square Park Conservancy as a volunteer. It keeps me focused on what’s happening, good and bad.

And this is bad.

General Garibaldi’s pedestal has acquired a major tag on its side. Dark green letters, three-feet wide and two-feet high. Incomprehensible letters that say “I’m here. Notice me!”

The Park’s been remarkably graffiti free during Covid year number two. Or maybe it just seems that way because the team of Mr. Old and Mr. Young keeps on top of things. Young wheels the heavy generator. Old slathers on a solution. Waits a bit. Young powers up the motor and Old aims his high-pressure wand. Usually, it works well.

We’ll see how Garibaldi fares.
