#52. THEATER OF THE ABSURD
I sit and listen.
As people walk by, I grab snatches of conversation and build a little play, “Waiting for No One.” By whom? Albee? Beckett?
Curtain up
“I don’t like this.”
"If I remember correctly, I completely surprised him.”
“Oh my! You think of the cane as a third leg.”
“Oh, that’s hilarious!”
“That’s actually what happened.”
“Let me give the other side of what we’re working on.”
“Whether or not I want to.”
“Yes, I look forward to it. Change, change, change.”
“Next week I’m going to a Brooklyn class!”
