#73. YOU KNOW IT’S SPRING...

It’s April. This week, my relatives in the middle of New York State had 4inches of snow. In Washington Square Park spring has been here for quite a while.

Small fields of yellow daffodils are everywhere, interspersed with wild white daffodils. Here and there you can find a Crocus, an Iris, a Magnolia. TheCallery Pear trees sprouted their blossoms and have already sprinkled them in snow squalls of white. Two kinds of cherry trees, Kwanzan and Yoshino, boast blossoms, some totally pink and others white with pink buds. Green trees are thick with buds, soon to turn to leaves. Here and there are yellow tulips and orange tulips, and a species of tulip that combines red and yellow into a single flaming display.

The human sign of spring is on view too: at least a hundred people sit on a section of lawn taking in the sun.
