#78. RETRO PHOTOGRAPHY

#78. RETRO PHOTOGRAPHY

Polaroid $5 reads the sign hanging on her chest displaying samples of past clients.

How retro. Well, so are LP turntables and manual typewriters, but the young seem drawn to all of them.

The Polaroid photographer strolls the Park with two cameras hanging around her neck and a third in her hands, a playful red and white model. Why would anyone want a Polaroid snap? So, I ask:
'
“I’m guessing your customers are mostly tourists to the Park?
“No actually mostly students. Like me. That’s how I got this job.”

True story. The guy who shot her recruited her to work for him. His name and his Venmo account are on the sign she wears. I don’t ask, but I know she can’t make much from the $5 fee.

So, what did you do with your photo? Send it home to mom?”
“Naw, I gave it to my friend. She paid for it.”

Did I get my photo taken? Nope, I’m into words.
