#97. COLORS OF THE WORLD 

The Park was filled with colors today. Groups of teens in Red, Green, Blue, Gray, and Yellow t-shirts sporting the EF logo. I count about 75. I want to know more so I ask one of the few adults I see. She’s a bit preoccupied. 

         “Sunscreen! Who needs              sunscreen?” 

         “EF is Education First, an International Exchange Program. Started in 1965 in      Sweden, but now it’s all over the world.” 

So why are they in Washington Square Park? 

         “The kids start here in New York City. The Park is on our agenda.” 

And then?  

“And then they each go to live with a family somewhere in the U.S. for a year. They come from 13 countries.” 

Cool. I hope they will remember their day in Washington Square.
